Banking Operations Officer – English Fluency & EU Passport Required

About the role

The Banking Operations Officer will join the Operations team in Malta, supporting day‑to‑day activities across the bank’s lending, corporate and retail deposit products. The role focuses on client onboarding, due diligence, documentation, customer servicing and operational controls, and requires fluency in English and an EU passport.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, verify and allocate documentation for credit applications, file reviews and KYB cases, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Perform customer due‑diligence (CDD) checks and flag any suspicious activity in line with AML regulations.
• Coordinate with Compliance, the MLRO, Product Managers and other stakeholders to resolve onboarding queries and document gaps.
• Set up and maintain customer records in core banking systems, preserving data quality and audit trails.
• Manage operational activities for retail deposit products, including application support, account maintenance, product servicing and lifecycle events.
• Track and validate product‑level data for management reporting and identify operational inefficiencies for improvement.
• Support product changes, customer communications and marketing‑related operational tasks.

Required profile

• Working experience in banking or financial services.
• Fluent English and holder of an EU passport.
• Ability to manage standard cases from start to finish, apply judgement within procedures and recognise when escalation is needed.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
