Financial Analyst – Cost & Procurement Specialist

About the role

Our client, one of the largest companies in Malta, is seeking a Financial Analyst to support cost analysis, budgeting and financial controls within the FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse procurement and production costs, focusing on raw and packaging materials.
• Monitor material prices, landed costs and purchasing trends to identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Compare actual costs against budgets and forecasts, investigate variances and highlight areas requiring attention.
• Track inventory levels, stock movements and slow‑moving items, ensuring proper accounting adjustments.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing and Operations to improve purchasing decisions and increase efficiency.
• Oversee accounts payable and expense processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years overall experience, including at least 3 years as a Finance Analyst.
• Strong background in FMCG, preferably with experience as a Factory or Supply‑Chain Controller.
• Prior experience in accounting/finance functions within a manufacturing or supply‑chain setting.
• Degree in Accountancy or ACCA qualification (MQF 6 level).
