Director of Sales & Marketing (Hotel)

About the role

The Director of Sales & Marketing leads all revenue‑generating activities for a luxury hotel, overseeing rooms, dining outlets, events and rental income. The role combines strategic positioning, brand communication and partnership development to maximise market share and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the overall sales and marketing strategy, integrating it into the annual budget and forecasting process.
• Lead and coordinate multiple sub‑departments (sales, marketing, PR, reservations, events) to ensure aligned goals and optimal business mix.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity and performance data, taking corrective actions to meet revenue and positioning targets.
• Develop and nurture partnerships with luxury brands, airlines, DMCs, OTAs and travel agencies to generate new revenue streams.
• Oversee pricing, yield management and promotional calendars in close collaboration with the Director of Revenue.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a senior sales & marketing role within a comparable star‑rated hotel.
• Proven ability to manage multiple teams and departments.
• Willingness to travel 30‑40% internationally (US and Europe).
• Full clean driving licence.
• Strategic, big‑picture thinker with strong relationship‑building and motivational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Opera Property Management System and Sales & Catering (S&C) platform.
• Experience using Global Distribution Systems (GDS), SEO and Digital Revenue Management (DRM) tools.
• Database management and growth through third‑party partnerships.
