Accounting Advisory & ESEF Professional

About the role

Deloitte is seeking a motivated and technically proficient professional to join its Assurance team. The role focuses on supporting listed entities with their European Single Electronic Format (ESEF) reporting cycle, from preparation and tagging to assurance of iXBRL‑tagged financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review advisory reports and memos on financial reporting and complex transactions.
• Develop consolidation workings and group reporting packages in line with IFRS and other applicable frameworks.
• Assist clients in preparing and reviewing financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Deliver training on accounting standards and financial reporting requirements to client finance teams.
• Lead ESEF assurance and advisory engagements, including iXBRL tagging and audit of annual reports.
• Provide technical guidance on ESEF compliance, xHTML formatting, iXBRL tagging, and EU Taxonomy.
• Advise on implementation of ESEF reporting solutions, tools, and best practices.
• Coordinate and review XBRL tagging performed by internal teams or third‑party providers.
• Liaise with audit teams to integrate ESEF assurance into broader financial statement audits.
• Monitor regulatory updates from ESMA, local regulators, and IFRS standard‑setters and advise clients on implications.

Required profile

• Strong background in financial reporting and IFRS.
