Junior Tax Professional – Domestic Tax Advisory

About the role

KPMG Malta is seeking a Junior Tax Professional to join its Domestic Tax Advisory team. You will support multinational and local clients on a range of direct tax matters, gaining exposure to corporate restructuring, financing, M&A, and other transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on direct tax implications of corporate restructuring, financing, domestic M&A and related transactions.
• Assist clients with ad‑hoc direct tax engagements, including tax incentive applications, capital gains tax, stamp duty and other Maltese tax laws.
• Prepare corporate income tax computations, income tax returns, tax refund applications and dividend documentation.
• Support the development and implementation of tax optimisation strategies for clients.
• Participate in tax due diligence reviews and tax audit assistance.
• Collaborate with tax professionals across the KPMG network to serve both local and cross‑border clients.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a tax environment after obtaining relevant qualifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good knowledge of Maltese Income Tax Acts and international tax concepts.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and comfortable working both independently and in a team.
