Experienced Tax Professional - Assistant Manager - International Tax

About the role

KPMG Malta is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its International Tax team as an Assistant Manager. You will work with a diverse portfolio of multinational clients, providing advice on domestic and cross‑border tax matters and supporting complex restructuring and financing transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on direct tax aspects of corporate restructurings, financing, mergers & acquisitions, and other transactions.
• Support international and local clients with ad‑hoc direct tax engagements, including tax incentive applications, capital gains tax, stamp duty and related matters.
• Prepare corporate income tax computations, income tax returns, tax refund applications and dividend documentation.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise clients’ direct tax positions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a tax environment after obtaining relevant qualifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong teamwork abilities and the capacity to work under tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the Income Tax Acts and related Maltese tax legislation.
• Experience with tax compliance, corporate tax computations and filing of tax returns.
