Senior Electrical Engineer – In‑house Team Lead

About the role

DLI Contractors Ltd, a leading MEP contractor in Malta, is expanding its in‑house engineering capability. We are looking for a senior, hands‑on Electrical Engineer to take full technical ownership of electrical works across a live portfolio of projects and to build a small internal engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical reference for the electrical engineering function, defining standards, templates and best practice.
• Supervise and review the output of engineers and draughtspersons, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
• Lead the recruitment, onboarding and mentoring of a growing in‑house electrical team.
• Support the General Manager in shaping the long‑term structure and resourcing of the engineering department.
• Review tender documents, assess scope, identify risks and prepare competitive bids.
• Prepare and review BOQs, material take‑offs and cost estimates aligned with Malta market rates.
• Develop LV power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, containment, earthing, bonding, fire detection interfaces and ELV system designs.
• Produce and coordinate technical drawings using AutoCAD and BIM/Revit workflows.

Required profile

• Valid Malta Engineering Board warrant.
• Significant MEP contracting experience in Malta.
• Proven senior‑level technical leadership and team‑building capability.
• Strong understanding of REWS regulations, Malta Electricity Supply Regulations and BS 7671.
