Project Manager – Construction

About the role

AX Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a portfolio of construction projects from initiation through hand‑over. The role focuses on delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards while supporting the company’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage all phases of construction projects, including design, execution and hand‑over.
• Develop and maintain detailed schedules, budgets and resource plans.
• Supervise project teams, contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
• Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and AX Group quality standards.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality.
• Prepare and control project budgets, approve invoices, change orders and financial reports.
• Act as primary liaison for clients, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain comprehensive project records and provide regular updates to the Construction and Development Director.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing large‑scale construction projects.
• Proven leadership abilities and strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Knowledge of local regulations, health and safety standards and quality control practices.
• Willingness to work across multiple sites in Malta and meet project deadlines.
