Senior Collections Specialist – German & English (Relocate to Malta)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Collections Specialist to join our Malta team. The ideal candidate is fluent in German and English and has extensive experience in debt restructuring, insolvency and handling complex cases. You will lead process improvements, manage a team and drive operational changes to optimise debt recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex debt restructuring cases, including insolvency, inheritance, sickness and other unique situations.
• Lead the design and implementation of automated, efficient processes to boost workflow productivity.
• Collaborate with external partners such as lawyers, collection agencies and restructuring servicers.
• Organise daily, weekly and monthly operations, ensuring balanced task distribution across the team.
• Negotiate settlement discussions with debtors to achieve favourable outcomes.
• Continuously evaluate and propose enhancements to collection strategies and processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in debt restructuring, insolvency and handling special or complex debt cases.
• Strong leadership background with a focus on team organisation and efficient operations.
• Demonstrated ability in process improvement, especially workflow automation and optimisation.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams, legal professionals and external partners.
