Senior 3D Environment Artist - New IP

About the role

A studio is looking for an experienced Senior 3D Environment Artist to join its team on a new intellectual property project. The artist works with the Art Team to create 3D assets and integrate them into game levels, collaborating closely with Level Artists, Concept Artists, Designers and the Art Director to build highly detailed props and structures for different game locations.

Key responsibilities

• Create and iterate 3D assets such as props, modules and structures
• Integrate and refine objects into game levels
• Work with Game Designers and the Art team to create objects and environments
• Handle complex layouts and perform quick research on shapes and environments
• Apply meticulous work with textures and materials

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in game development and modelling
• Strong understanding of forms, silhouettes and colour, with an artistic eye and attention to detail
• Ability to work creatively within a large or small group and communicate in English
• Preferred: technical or art education, knowledge of modern AAA pipelines, and a passion for games

Required skills

• Expertise in a 3D modelling package (Max, Maya, Blender), Substance Painter / Substance Designer and ZBrush
• Knowledge of real-time rendering engines, resource limits and optimization
• Experience with modular kits and large asset authoring
• Ability to create PBR-correct assets
• Preferred: game engines such as Unreal or Unity, photogrammetry, SpeedTree, Houdini, engine tooling and automation
