L2 Platform Engineer

About the role

The Level 2 Platform Engineer provides operational support for core business applications, primarily in the Life and Non‑Life insurance domain. The role focuses on incident investigation, troubleshooting, and maintaining system stability while collaborating with Level 1 support and senior teams.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Level 2 support for insurance applications, handling incident diagnosis, escalation and resolution.
• Monitor system health, batch jobs and scheduled processes, ensuring platform availability.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis for recurring or high‑impact incidents and propose preventive actions.
• Analyse end‑to‑end insurance processes and support impact assessments for changes and fixes.
• Use PL/SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting; support Oracle database performance and batch validation.
• Assist with application releases, post‑deployment checks, testing validation and documentation updates.
• Collaborate with infrastructure DBA teams and internal stakeholders to improve support processes.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in application support, systems analysis or system administration, preferably in insurance or financial services.
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Detail‑oriented, resilient, with strong ownership and a continuous‑improvement mindset.

Required skills

• Strong PL/SQL skills.
• Good understanding of SQL and database troubleshooting (Oracle, SQL Server).
• Working knowledge of T‑SQL.
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ and Kafka (considered an asset).
• Experience with root‑cause analysis and technical documentation.
