Engine Room Oiler – Cruise Ship

About the role

As an Oiler on a leading cruise line, you will support the engine room team to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation of the ship’s machinery. Your work will directly contribute to a smooth sailing experience for guests and crew.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Engine Officer/Chief Watch in maintaining and cleaning machinery spaces.
• Perform routine watch‑keeping tasks and monitor engine performance.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on shipboard machinery.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in all engine rooms.
• Support emergency preparedness through swimming and rowing proficiency.

Required profile

• Intermediate oral and written English.
• Basic Safety Training with an Advanced Firefighting certificate.
• Proven swimming and rowing competence for emergency situations.
• Physical fitness to meet the demands of engine‑room work.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
