Quality Engineer

About the role

The Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing quality planning activities, identifying and addressing manufacturing, quality, and customer‑related issues. The incumbent makes data‑driven decisions, conducts comprehensive investigations, and collaborates with multiple departments, key customers, and other Crane Currency sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support cross‑functional failure investigations using advanced problem‑solving tools (8D, 5 Why, DMAIC, FMEA).
• Lead customer discussions on high‑visibility failures and ensure timely, effective responses.
• Develop, maintain and analyse internal quality metrics related to internal control, customer claims, supplier claims and improvement initiatives.
• Manage changes, qualification and validation processes to protect product quality.
• Participate in the Quality Management System program and prepare the site for external audits and certification.
• Improve overall quality performance by identifying adverse trends and implementing improvement plans.
• Support IATF 16949 site roadmap activities and other continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Comply with safety policies and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Fundamental understanding of quality engineering and manufacturing principles (FMEA, SPC, MSA, GRR, Fishbone analysis).
• Proficient in leveraging data for decision‑making and technical report writing in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
