Electrical Fitter

About the role

The Electrical Fitter joins the ship’s Electro‑Technical team to perform and assist with maintenance and repairs in either the engine room or hotel areas, depending on assignment. Reporting to the 2nd Electro‑Technical Officer, the role supports daily operations and ensures all electrical systems function safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance and safety checks on elevators.
• Maintain hotel‑area systems, including automatic doors and cabin automation.
• Support passenger and crew accommodation electrical issues such as lighting and power.
• Conduct safety shutdown tests on main engines and perform battery checks on safety systems.
• Help maintain engine‑room general systems, including waste‑water treatment and evaporators.
• Participate in technical staff meetings, communicate policies, and report any equipment damage or malfunction immediately.

Required profile

• Full compliance with the flag‑state safety, health, and physical requirements.
• Documentation in accordance with STCW 95 standards.
