Compliance Senior Manager - Malta (EMI & CASP)

About the role

BVNK, a stablecoin-powered financial stack now part of Mastercard, is looking for a Compliance Senior Manager for its Malta Electronic Money Institution and CASP. The role sits in the second line of defence, running the compliance monitoring programme, firm-wide policies and regulatory oversight for EMI and CASP operations, with a focus on Malta and support for other regions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and coordinate regulatory notifications, thematic review submissions and gap analyses for the MFSA and CBM
• Scan the regulatory horizon across EMI and MiCA/CASP frameworks and keep stakeholders informed
• Maintain the master compliance calendar for filings, deadlines and regulatory queries
• Help draft compliance reports and presentations for the Board, Internal Controls Committee and the MFSA
• Support policy owners in drafting and reviewing compliance policies and procedures
• Oversee the annual compliance testing plan and remediation plans
• Log, investigate and assess regulatory breaches, including notification thresholds under DORA
• Run compliance impact assessments on new products and features, and token risk assessments for crypto assets under MiCA
• Manage the Insider Register and process Personal Account Trading requests to prevent market abuse
• Approve marketing collateral and financial promotions, and oversee the 2LoD review of consumer complaint handling
• Monitor capital adequacy requirements and work with IT and Operations on operational resilience, BCP and third-party outsourcing compliance
• Deliver compliance training and keep training logs for the Board and Key Function Holders

Required profile

• Relevant experience in a compliance role in financial services, preferably in a fintech or crypto firm
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business or a related discipline
• Working knowledge of the MFSA Financial and CASP Rules and Handbooks, EMD and PSD2, with the ability to quickly master new regulatory frameworks
