Business Development Manager – Digital Commerce & Acquiring (EU)

About the role

We are looking for a commercial, tech‑savvy Business Development Manager to expand our merchant acquiring footprint across the European Union. You will position our end‑to‑end acquiring infrastructure to mid‑market and enterprise e‑commerce merchants in low‑risk digital commerce sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Generate pipeline and close mid‑market to enterprise low‑risk e‑commerce merchants across the EEA, focusing on e‑retail, digital goods, travel and hospitality.
• Analyse merchant statements and design acquiring solutions on our unified API to improve authorisation rates, reduce cart abandonment and optimise total cost of acceptance.
• Structure pricing models (Interchange++, blended, tiered) in collaboration with Risk and Compliance to maintain healthy margins.
• Leverage relationships with platforms, system integrators, shopping carts and web agencies to build indirect inbound channels.
• Provide market intelligence on payment features and pricing shifts to the product team.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of business development experience in e‑commerce merchant acquiring (EMI, acquirer or high‑growth PayTech).
• Deep knowledge of low‑risk digital commerce, technical features, platform stability and pricing.
• Proven track record of building high‑volume merchant portfolios with low chargeback and fraud ratios.
• Experience in both direct and indirect sales channels.
• Fluent in English; additional European language (German, French, Spanish or Italian) is a plus.
