Assistant Maintenance Manager

About the role

This position supports the Maintenance Manager in overseeing all maintenance activities within a dynamic hospitality environment. You will help ensure the property’s building systems run smoothly while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise day‑to‑day maintenance operations across the property.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager in managing in‑house teams and external contractors.
• Monitor preventative and corrective maintenance schedules to guarantee timely completion.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance projects with minimal disruption.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to maintenance staff.
• Liaise with Heads of Departments on schedules, project updates, and operational impacts.
• Review quotations, verify material quality, and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work schedules, and documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior or supervisory maintenance role, preferably in hospitality or a fast‑paced operational setting.
• Higher Technician Diploma (HTD) or equivalent technical qualification.
• Valid Local Driving Licence A and B.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, ELV, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
• Excellent organisational, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills and a proactive, hands‑on attitude.
