Tax Manager – Malta

About the role

TechBiz Global is seeking a Tax Manager to join a client’s finance team in Gżira, Malta. This role offers the chance to lead tax‑planning initiatives, support corporate restructuring projects and work closely with both international and local clients in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement tax‑planning strategies to optimise clients’ tax liabilities.
• Provide tax advice on corporate restructuring, financing, M&A, cross‑border investments and other transactions.
• Assist with ad‑hoc tax advisory engagements for international and local clients.
• Prepare corporate tax returns, tax refund applications and support tax compliance activities.
• Coordinate tax audits and liaise with tax authorities.
• Deliver technical training and support to accounting and audit teams.
• Monitor local and international direct tax developments.
• Identify growth opportunities for the tax unit and propose process improvements.
• Mentor junior team members and review their work.

Required profile

• ACCA qualified or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a CSP environment after qualification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Maltese; additional language is a plus.
• Pro‑active, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong client‑relationship building skills and a passion for delivering high‑quality service.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Maltese tax legislation.
• Understanding of accounting standards.
