Sous Chef

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join the kitchen team of a well‑established restaurant in Malta. You will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure high‑quality dishes are prepared and served efficiently, maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare and cook dishes to the restaurant’s standards.
• Supervise and assist kitchen staff during service.
• Maintain food quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Uphold hygiene, cleanliness, and food‑safety standards.
• Assist with stock management, ordering, and inventory control.
• Help train and develop junior kitchen team members.
• Ensure smooth and efficient service during busy periods.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Good leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Familiarity with HACCP and food‑safety standards.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Experience with seafood or Mediterranean cuisine is an advantage.
