Software Engineer

About the role

Corpay is hiring a Software Engineer for its Alpha division within the Corporate Payments line of business. Based in Malta, you will help design and develop secure, scalable eMoney and FX payment systems, working closely with product, design, and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable payment systems.
• Collaborate with engineering managers, designers, and product teams to gather requirements and implement technical standards.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and ensure secure coding practices.
• Document development processes and support system performance monitoring and optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience, preferably with 1–2 years in fintech, asset management, FX, payment processing or eMoney.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Required skills

• React and TypeScript for modern frontend development.
• Frontend build tools such as Vite and styling frameworks like TailwindCSS, SCSS or CSS‑in‑JS.
• Node.js and TypeScript backend development, preferably with NestJS.
• API design and consumption (REST, authentication, validation, error handling).
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, AWS CodePipeline).
• Testing tools such as Jest or Vitest.
