Senior Tax Professional – Domestic Incentives

About the role

KPMG Malta is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Professional to join its Domestic Incentives Team. You will work with multinational and domestic clients, providing advice on direct tax matters, incentive legislation, and corporate restructuring.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on direct tax aspects of corporate restructuring, financing, M&A and other transactions.
• Support clients in applying for tax incentives and navigating Maltese tax laws, including capital gains tax and stamp duty.
• Prepare corporate income tax computations, tax returns, refund applications and dividend documentation.
• Develop tax implementation strategies to optimise clients’ direct tax positions.
• Assist with tax due diligence, tax audits and compliance engagements.
• Collaborate with tax professionals across the KPMG network on cross‑border assignments.
• Mentor junior team members and review their work as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a tax environment.
• Relevant qualification – ACCA, master’s in accountancy or bachelor’s degree with honours.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of Maltese Income Tax Acts.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality.
• Proactive, team‑oriented mindset with a focus on detail and accuracy.
