Senior System Engineer – Network & Security

About the role

The Senior Systems Engineer will join the Network & Security Team of a key public sector organisation, leading enterprise infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations and technical activities within the Network & Security Team.
• Lead projects covering infrastructure, cybersecurity, business continuity and disaster recovery.
• Manage enterprise infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, LAN/WAN, storage, backup and SQL environments.
• Administer security systems such as SIEM, anti‑malware, email security, web filtering, CCTV and access control.
• Investigate security alerts, support incident response and contribute to vulnerability and penetration testing.

Required profile

• MQF Level 6 in Computer Science or related field with at least 4 years relevant experience (or Level 5 with 5 years).
• Proven experience in enterprise infrastructure, networking and security.
• Previous experience leading technical projects or mentoring IT teams.
• Fluent in both Maltese and English.
