Senior Manager - Risk & Compliance

About the role

Aon Insurance Managers in Malta is looking for a Senior Manager to lead Risk & Compliance for its captive insurance operations. The role combines regulatory compliance, anti‑money‑laundering oversight and enterprise risk management, supporting both the Malta entity and other jurisdictions within the Hub.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Compliance Officer for Aon Malta entities and their managed clients, ensuring adherence to Insurance Legislation, MFSA guidelines and all applicable laws.
• Report to the Board on compliance and regulatory matters and liaise with the MFSA on all regulatory issues.
• Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive compliance plan, including quarterly and annual regulatory reporting.
• Oversee the risk management framework, maintain the risk register and conduct ORSA assessments.
• Serve as Money Laundering Reporting Officer, delivering AML training and ensuring compliance with anti‑money‑laundering regulations.
• Provide compliance and risk oversight to other domiciles in the Hub, aligning local frameworks with Hub standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in insurance compliance, risk management or related regulatory functions.
• Proven ability to interact with senior management, boards and regulators.
• Strong analytical mindset with a systematic approach to risk and governance.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across jurisdictions.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Malta insurance legislation and MFSA regulations.
• Expertise in anti‑money‑laundering (AML) requirements and reporting.
• Experience with risk registers, ORSA processes and governance frameworks.
