Payroll Associate

About the role

BDO Malta is seeking a Payroll Associate to join its Tax department in Msida. You will work closely with a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate payroll processing and supporting various client‑related administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Support the management of a client portfolio, including set‑up, coordination and issuance of bills.
• Handle monthly payroll processing and coordinate employee payments.
• Process payroll‑related payments to third‑party providers.
• Manage onboarding and termination processes within the payroll system.
• Prepare client forms and documents, including registrations with IRD and Jobsplus.
• Register new companies and employees with IRD and Jobsplus, and handle employee terminations.
• Assist clients with payroll‑related queries and issues.
• Coordinate internally to assess and meet client needs.
• Perform any other related payroll matters as required.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in payroll or related finance functions.
• Knowledge of the Shireburn Indigo payroll platform.
• Relevant payroll courses are an asset.
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and solid organisational skills.
