Nurse for Luxury Cruise Ship

About the role

Explora Journeys is seeking a qualified Nurse to join the medical team aboard its newly created luxury cruise brand. Working under the supervision of the ship’s Doctor, you will deliver high‑quality nursing care to guests and crew while maintaining a safe, clean medical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, high‑quality patient care in line with company policies.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Maintain a positive workplace culture and support ongoing staff education.
• Participate in quality‑improvement projects.
• Keep the Medical Centre sanitary and manage inventory of medicines, supplies, and equipment.
• Conduct water analysis and testing according to standard procedures.
• Perform quick tests and examinations as directed by the Doctor.
• Operate shore‑side first‑aid services in ports lacking emergency facilities.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience with PALS and ATLS.
• Current practising registration.
• 2 years of similar sea‑based experience is an advantage.
• Certification in ACLS, ALS or equivalent.
• Proficiency with advanced medical equipment (defibrillators, ventilators, patient monitors, sterilizers).
• Ability to perform and interpret basic ECGs.
• Competence in drug administration, phlebotomy, venipuncture, and wound treatment.
• Knowledge of medical sanitation standards and food, water, air safety responsibilities.
• Valid passport and seaman’s book.
