IT System Engineer (PKI, Windows Server, DevOps)

About the role

TOPPAN Security, the international development arm of the TOPPAN Group in the security domain, is looking for an IT System Engineer in Żejtun. The role covers deploying, configuring and maintaining software packages for high-profile IT systems, including the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and acting as technical lead for projects and support teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the software deployment lifecycle, including planning, implementation, maintenance and retirement, and manage change processes with testing, documentation and rollback procedures.
• Provide technical leadership for Windows Server, PKI, backup, networking and other critical systems, and lead incident and problem management with root cause analysis and preventive measures in line with ITIL.
• Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors on integrations, Level 3 escalations and business-critical operations, and support PKI operations and Trusted Roles in line with ICAO, eIDAS and other standards.
• Act as Technical Lead on project teams, run technical meetings, and maintain technical documentation, knowledge bases and training materials.
• Mentor less experienced team members and promote best practices and compliance.

Required profile

• Higher-level education in IT or a related degree.
• Minimum 5 years' experience supporting, maintaining and operating Windows Enterprise environments.
• Experience with audits and certifications such as ISO 27001, eIDAS and ICAO.
• Hands-on experience in at least two of the listed focus areas (DevOps & Cloud, Networking & Security, Windows Domain Administration, Database Administration).
• Strong communication, troubleshooting and leadership skills; flexible regarding work location and hours.
• Valid passport and ability to obtain the necessary visas, as some travel abroad (up to 30%) may be required.

Required skills

• DevOps & Cloud: Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, NFS and SMB storage.
• Networking & Security: Cisco and Cloudflare devices, DNS, CDN, WAF, firewall, VPN, SSL/TLS certificates, Wireshark.
• Windows Server 2022/5, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, Hyper-V, Failover Clustering, WSUS, VEAM backup.
• Databases: MSSQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, performance tuning, backup automation, HA and DR.
• Certifications such as CCNA, Docker Certified Associate, CKAD, Azure Administrator Associate, and Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate are preferred.
