Financial Analyst – Investment Services Supervision

About the role

As an Analyst in the Investment Services Supervision unit of the Malta Financial Services Authority, you will support the supervision of investment firms, asset managers and collective investment schemes by providing high‑quality financial analysis and data management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and publish key investment services financial statistics for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist management and other teams with ad‑hoc financial analysis requests.
• Ensure data integrity in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Maintain and update return submission logs and supervisory return records.
• Monitor ESMA and EBA updates, lead internal projects to adapt reporting templates, and communicate changes to the industry.
• Run and support risk modelling activities.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by management or required by the Authority.

Required profile

• Academic qualification at NQF Level 6 or higher in finance, accounting, economics or a related field, recognised by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience (seven years acceptable in lieu of formal qualifications).
• Strong understanding of asset managers, investment managers and collective investment schemes.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with databases and business‑intelligence tools.
• Basic financial acumen related to investment services.
