D365 Business Central Functional Lead

About the role

PwC is growing its Advisory practice within Digital Consulting and is looking for an experienced D365 Business Central Functional Lead to join its consultancy team. The role leads complex client engagements, shapes functional solutions and guides multidisciplinary teams through end-to-end delivery, combining strong Business Central expertise with commercial awareness and trusted client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Act as functional lead across one or more D365 Business Central areas such as Finance, Sales, Procurement, Inventory or HR, turning business priorities into practical, scalable solutions.
• Lead end-to-end implementation projects, setting functional direction and overseeing discovery, design, configuration, testing, training, cutover, reporting and post-implementation support.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, manage expectations and secure alignment on scope, priorities, risks and deliverables.
• Own the quality of functional deliverables, managing dependencies, risks and issues so solutions meet agreed business outcomes and governance standards.
• Lead, coach and review functional consultants, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Support proposals, estimates, solution demonstrations, methodology development and other business-development activities.

Required profile

• Degree, equivalent qualification or substantial relevant practical experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, including leading Business Central or comparable ERP workstreams or implementations; professional-services or consulting experience is beneficial.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English; additional languages such as Spanish, German or Italian are an advantage.
• Experience supporting and developing colleagues through coaching, feedback and people management.

Required skills

• Advanced hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central; relevant Microsoft certification is an advantage.
• Knowledge of ERP implementation methodologies, planning workstreams, estimating effort, allocating resources and managing delivery risks.
• Project leadership and commercial awareness, including managing scope, budgets, timelines, resourcing and client expectations.
