BI / Reporting Specialist

About the role

PwC is looking for a BI / Reporting Specialist to join its Data & Transformation team within Internal Firm Services. You will turn enterprise data into dashboards, semantic models and self-service products used by stakeholders across the firm, working with data stewards, data engineers and business experts from Marketing, HR, Finance and client engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver production BI solutions and semantic models, including dashboards, paginated reports and models in Power BI (Direct Lake / Import / DirectQuery) using DAX and Power Query, with role-level security and workspace governance.
• Turn ambiguous business questions into clear KPIs, well-modelled semantic layers and dashboards aligned to a shared business glossary.
• Build and optimise analytics products on Microsoft Fabric, Azure and Databricks, including lakehouse architectures and CI/CD via Git and Azure DevOps.
• Embed governance, data quality and GDPR-aware design, including lineage, certified datasets and Purview-aligned classification.
• Mentor junior analysts and raise the bar on dashboard quality, performance and reliability across PwC Malta.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics or a related quantitative discipline.
• 3-5 years designing and delivering production BI solutions and semantic models across Finance, Marketing, HR, Risk and Engagement Delivery.
• Advanced Power BI skills (dashboards, paginated reports, semantic models, DAX, Power Query, role-level security) and advanced SQL (querying, optimisation, dimensional modelling on Synapse, Fabric Warehouse, Snowflake or BigQuery).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, the Power Platform and Dataverse.
• Nice to have: Python or R, exposure to Oracle Fusion, SAP S/4HANA, Salesforce, Dynamics 365, Workday, GenAI and natural-language Q&A, and certifications such as PL-300, DP-600, DP-500, PL-400, PL-500 or Tableau Desktop Specialist.
