Cruise Specialist – Full Time

About the role

Special Interest Travel Limited is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Cruise Specialist to lead and expand its cruise business segment. The role involves managing supplier relationships, creating innovative cruise products, and delivering profitable passenger experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with cruise suppliers, partners and key decision‑makers.
• Identify and secure new cruise business opportunities and partnerships.
• Negotiate commercial agreements, rates and service contracts.
• Attend international trade fairs, workshops and industry networking events.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging cruise segments.
• Design innovative shore excursions and cruise itineraries that showcase Malta’s cultural and historical attractions.
• Create premium, group and bespoke cruise products that meet passenger expectations.
• Achieve revenue and passenger‑volume targets and prepare annual sales plans and forecasts.
• Identify upselling and cross‑selling opportunities for the Hospitality Division.
• Coordinate with operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery and high customer satisfaction.
• Prepare performance reports, sales updates, pipeline forecasts and maintain accurate CRM records.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the cruise industry, DMC sector, tour operations or related travel business.
• Proven track record in business development, contracting or sales.
• Strong commercial and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships.
• Results‑oriented with a proactive approach.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written; additional languages are an asset.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with CRM systems.
