Controls and Governance Manager

About the role

OKX is looking for a Controls and Governance Manager in Sliema to strengthen its first line of defense. The role works with internal departments and centralized teams to drive risk management, process improvements and robust control performance, helping the company meet MFSA and ESMA regulatory requirements and embed non-financial risk management into operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the second and third lines of defense (Risk Management, Compliance and Internal Audit) on control requirements while keeping first-line responsibility
• Act as central contact for first-line risk and control activities, coordinating product, risk, compliance, finance and legal teams
• Maintain the Risk & Control Self Assessment (RCSA) on critical processes, design, validate and test local controls and their reporting
• Monitor Key Risk Indicators and report KRI anomalies or deviations to the Risk Management function
• Support reviews of material outsourcing and third-party/ICT arrangements, and monitor third-party performance
• Support product-governance reviews for new products and material changes
• Identify and report local incidents, track remediation and promote risk awareness through training and communication
• Use automation and data analytics to improve risk identification, monitoring and reporting

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in operations, process management or governance in a regulated environment such as fintech, crypto, SaaS or financial services
• Track record in scalable, high-growth organizations with rapidly evolving workflows
• Familiarity with governance frameworks, risk management and compliance procedures
• Ability to work with risk, product, legal and vendor management teams
• Organizational and communication skills, able to handle multiple tasks and escalate issues
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and proactive on governance improvements
