Backend Developer (Node.js, Go, PHP) – Malta

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Developer to design, build and maintain high‑performance server‑side applications using Node.js, Go and PHP. You will work in an Agile team, delivering scalable solutions that meet business requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend applications with Node.js, Go, and PHP.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Analyse business requirements and implement scalable backend solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues and system defects.
• Design and execute tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and test plans.
• Monitor system performance and provide ongoing technical support.
• Research and implement new technologies to improve existing applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile development environment.

Required profile

• Degree or certification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
• Junior‑level development experience with Node.js, Go, and PHP.
• Understanding of object‑oriented programming principles.
• Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, and messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ or Redis.
• Familiarity with Git and version‑control best practices.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
