Junior Sous Chef

About the role

Anniventi is seeking a motivated Junior Sous Chef to join its bustling kitchen in Sliema. Working on‑site full‑time, you will support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in delivering high‑quality dishes while maintaining a clean and efficient environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking, and plating according to established recipes and menu standards.
• Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff, delegating tasks and ensuring smooth workflow.
• Monitor food hygiene and safety practices, adhering to local regulations.
• Help manage inventory, stock rotation, and ordering of supplies.
• Contribute ideas for menu development and communicate effectively with front‑of‑house teams.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in culinary techniques, food preparation, and cooking methods.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations in a professional kitchen.
• Ability to supervise staff, delegate tasks, and work well under time pressure.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive, professional attitude.
• Prior experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar junior kitchen role.
• Formal culinary training or certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
