General Services Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a General Services Maintenance Engineer to join the Central Construction Facility Services team of a leading semiconductor manufacturer. The role focuses on the reliable, safe and efficient operation of the site’s non‑manufacturing infrastructure, covering building services, fire protection, water systems and preventive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee testing, certification and preventive maintenance of fire detection, alarm and automated fire‑suppression systems, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
• Manage maintenance, chemical dosing and testing of domestic and drinking water systems in line with health and anti‑legionella requirements.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of office lighting, secondary electrical distribution, plumbing, civil infrastructure and other building services.
• Support space‑management activities such as office relocations, layout changes and furniture logistics.
• Supervise external contractors and service providers, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and to agreed standards.
• Develop, track and execute preventive‑maintenance schedules using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities in energy efficiency, water reduction and infrastructure optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in facilities engineering, maintenance, building services or technical project management is an advantage.
• Local Electrical Wireman Licenses (A and B) are a distinct advantage.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, attention to detail and proactive attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Knowledge of fire detection, alarm and automated fire‑suppression systems.
• Experience in chemical dosing and maintenance of water treatment systems.
• Ability to plan and execute preventive‑maintenance programmes.
• Electrical Wireman License A and B.
