IT Engineer – Robotics & Automation

About the role

Join a leading international semiconductor company at its Malta site as an IT Engineer supporting robotics and automation manufacturing lines. You will work in a modern, multicultural environment, collaborating with highly skilled professionals to keep production equipment running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incidents and service requests for robotics and automation lines, applying workarounds to maintain equipment uptime.
• Analyse issues using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D) to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support manufacturing change requests linked to new business requirements.
• Test new software features and releases, ensuring existing functionality remains stable.
• Deploy and characterise new versions of Equipment Integrated Controllers (EICs) on new equipment types.
• Conduct training sessions for key users when required.
• Develop and maintain documentation and improve operating procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Knowledge of PL/SQL.
• Experience in robotics or automation within a manufacturing environment is an asset, especially with AMA and MCS applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team while complying with health and safety rules.
• Willingness to continuously develop knowledge and skills.
• Strong presentation abilities and the capacity to deliver training are advantageous.

• Competitive salary range €40,000 – €48,000 gross per year.
