Test Equipment Engineer / Automation Engineer (PLC)

About the role

Crane Authentication is seeking a Test Equipment Engineer / Automation Engineer (PLC) to design, simulate, and validate automated machinery across its product portfolio. The role bridges engineering, project management, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant automation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project business cases, defining scope, timeline, stakeholders and deliverables.
• Produce detailed technical specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with business units to identify automation opportunities that improve workflow.
• Simulate and test automated equipment and methods.
• Support the maintenance team with PLC and computer system troubleshooting.
• Perform HSE and security impact assessments for projects.
• Participate in Factory, Site and User Acceptance Testing.
• Maintain clear communication plans and prepare status reports on timeliness, resources, quality and budget.
• Ensure business continuity and a safe, healthy workplace throughout the project lifecycle.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence principles.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of hardware, software, systems and networks.
• Degree in an engineering science discipline.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Project Management.
• Excellent data‑management abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage time and budget.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• English language proficiency at C1 level or higher.
