Senior Network Engineer

About the role

As Senior Network Engineer you will design, implement and manage our Hosting services network infrastructure, lead architecture blueprints and projects, mentor engineers, and keep our networks efficient, secure and reliable. You will join a 24/7 NOC, DevOps, SRE, Cloud and Network Infrastructure team delivering Managed Services from solution design to daily operations, reporting to the Head of Infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage core on‑prem network infrastructure for customer‑facing hosting services.
• Own core routing and network security, including firewalls, DDoS protection and VPNs.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues with minimal downtime.
• Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations and extensions.
• Drive network automation and Infrastructure‑as‑Code to improve change control and efficiency.
• Monitor and optimise network performance and support ISO 27001 compliance.
• Lead incident, problem and change management for the network team.
• Maintain accurate designs, configurations, asset inventory and documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years managing complex on‑prem networks, preferably in a hosting environment.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude, comfortable communicating directly with customers.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and on‑call rotation.
• CCNP or JNCIP certification; exposure to compliance‑driven environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Cisco and Juniper routing, switching, firewalls and VPNs.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF and VXLAN.
• Network security and high‑availability design, including DDoS protection (e.g., Cloudflare).
• Software‑Defined Networking, automation/IaC tooling and scripting.
• Network observability and monitoring tools.
