Senior Network Engineer – Infrastructure

About the role

As a Senior Network Engineer in the Connectivity area, you will own and evolve the production network that supports Betsson Group’s customer‑facing platforms. You will work hands‑on with a hybrid on‑prem and AWS environment, applying automation and Infrastructure‑as‑Code to keep the network reliable and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate production network infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain Layer 3 switching, routing, firewalls and VPN technologies.
• Provide hybrid connectivity between on‑prem data centres and AWS, including VPCs, Transit Gateways and Cloud WAN concepts.
• Build and manage AWS networking services such as Route 53, VPC routing and traffic management.
• Create and maintain network resources using Terraform and Ansible.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve network incidents in a 24/7 production environment.
• Participate in incident, problem and change management processes.
• Collaborate with architects, platform, security and application teams and keep documentation up to date.
• Take part in a rotating on‑call schedule supporting critical services.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer in a production environment.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with enterprise routing and switching (e.g., Arista, Cisco).
• Experience with firewalls and VPN solutions (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet).
• Knowledge of load‑balancing technologies (F5 preferred or nginx).
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, VXLAN and other routing protocols.
• Familiarity with network security principles and high‑availability design.
• Practical experience with AWS networking, especially Route 53.
• Proficiency in Terraform (and optionally Ansible) for infrastructure automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Comfortable working under change‑management processes and on‑call responsibilities.
