Senior Information Security Engineer

About the role

The Senior Information Security Engineer at Betsson is responsible for strengthening the organisation’s security posture across governance, operations, incident response and awareness. The role combines hands‑on technical work with leadership duties, mentoring junior staff and guiding strategic security initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead advanced vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and threat‑modeling exercises.
• Provide technical guidance to the SOC on complex threats, APT scenarios and detection automation.
• Design, implement and manage security tool architectures, automations and workflow integrations.
• Oversee security technology lifecycle, including upgrades, vendor evaluations and integrations.
• Direct incident response activities, conduct forensic investigations and produce post‑incident reports for executives.
• Develop and refine incident‑response playbooks and security policies.
• Contribute to security governance by reviewing standards, conducting information security reviews and advising on compliance.
• Participate in the design and evaluation of security awareness programmes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5‑7 years of information‑security experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven ability to design, implement and manage enterprise security solutions.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM or OSCP are a plus.
