Senior Accountant

About the role

CapServices Limited, a boutique Class C Corporate Service Provider, is seeking an experienced and commercially‑minded Senior Accountant. You will own a portfolio of local and international clients, act as the primary accounting contact, and support the growth of the accounting function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and own a diverse client portfolio across multiple industries.
• Serve as the main point of contact for all accounting‑related client inquiries.
• Prepare and review management accounts, annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and review VAT returns, VAT recapitulative statements, income tax computations and other statutory filings.
• Ensure compliance with deadlines and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, banks and regulatory authorities.
• Review junior accountants’ work, providing coaching, mentoring and technical guidance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
• Support senior management on technical accounting matters.

Required profile

• Maltese Warrant in Accountancy.
• Minimum five years of relevant accounting experience.
• Previous experience in a Corporate Service Provider environment.
• Strong knowledge of Maltese VAT and Income Tax legislation.
• Proven ability to manage a client portfolio independently.
• Experience supervising, coaching and mentoring junior staff.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Client‑focused communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
