R&D Officer – Pharmaceutical Development

About the role

The client is a leading pharmaceutical company in Malta seeking a motivated R&D Officer to join its Research and Development team. The role focuses on leading and coordinating activities for introducing new solid oral generic products into manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Write, coordinate and implement protocols and manufacturing instructions for trial, pilot and validation batches of new products.
• Assist in the manufacture of R&D batches, performing in‑process controls and physical tests.
• Draft, monitor and execute project plans for new products, liaising with other departments to ensure timelines are met.
• Support quality management by updating SOPs, CAPA, change controls and handling deviations.

Required profile

• University degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Experience working in a pharmaceutical environment, preferably in process technology transfer for solid oral dosage forms.
• Valid work permit for Malta.
