About the role

AX Construction is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join its innovative team. The role involves managing costs, preparing tender documents, and ensuring projects stay within budget while meeting client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost plans and liaise with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to produce practical designs.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Evaluate tenders, negotiate with contractors, and control project budgets.
• Monitor project progress, measure and value variations, and manage interim payments and final accounts.
• Carry out monthly valuations, forecast final costs, and provide commercial advice to project staff.
• Vet subcontractor tenders, certify monthly valuations, and produce formal reports.
• Communicate commercial controls to project staff and subcontractors and ensure adherence to budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost estimating within construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
• Self‑motivated, energetic team player with flexible and adaptable approach.
• Good organisational skills, resource planning, and program scheduling.
• Ability to produce both summarized and detailed reports on current activities.
