P1 Paint Technician – Aircraft Painting

About the role

The P1 Paint Technician works in the aircraft paint shop, performing repair and repaint tasks on both external and internal aircraft components. The role involves preparing parts, sanding, removing old paint by chemical or mechanical means, and applying new paint using brush, roller or spray gun, while following approved maintenance data.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply technical drawings, maintenance manuals (SRM, AMM, IPC), engineering orders and job cards.
• Prepare aircraft parts for painting, including sanding and paint removal.
• Apply paint using appropriate techniques (brush, roller, spray gun) to meet quality standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work area in a serviceable and tidy condition.
• Use IT systems to retrieve maintenance data, log work and track job progress.
• Promote safety, quality and continuous improvement in accordance with the SMS.
• Participate in shift work, including nights and weekends, as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in aircraft painting or related industries such as automotive or marine.
• Completion of a spray‑painting course (e.g., MCAST Diploma in Automotive Repair – Body and Paint) or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
• Good teamwork and communication skills, with fluency in English.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts.
