Manufacturing Shift Manager

About the role

The Manufacturing Shift Manager leads a 3‑shift team in a fast‑paced production environment, ensuring that daily manufacturing, maintenance and process activities meet quality, safety and cost targets. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role combines operational oversight with continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the shift production plan in line with company objectives, KPIs, quality and food‑safety standards.
• Lead and support operative and technical personnel to meet production targets.
• Collect and analyse data to drive safety, efficiency, waste reduction and speed of execution using root‑cause analysis.
• Prepare and issue periodic production and performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, 5S, health‑and‑safety and housekeeping standards.
• Conduct pre‑production start‑up checks, address deviations and coordinate with Quality Control.
• Perform Gemba walks, monitor shop‑floor organization and drive continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Proven leadership in a manufacturing setting, able to motivate and hold teams accountable.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with experience in root‑cause analysis.
• Excellent communication skills to convey priorities, targets and improvement opportunities.
• Ability to mentor, train and develop production staff.
• Commitment to health‑and‑safety, quality standards and zero‑defect goals.
