Lead Nurse

About the role

Explora Journeys is seeking a world‑class Lead Nurse to oversee the Medical Centre on its luxury cruise ships. You will work closely with the Lead Doctor and shore‑based medical teams to deliver high‑quality, customer‑focused care for guests and crew.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor clinical governance, quality and safety processes.
• Provide timely, respectful care to all visitors of the Medical Centre.
• Manage accurate medical billing, handle complaints and execute service recovery.
• Ensure complete electronic health records in SeaCare and compliance with data protection laws.
• Oversee medication and supplies inventory, safe drug dispensing, and medical equipment management.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and enforce infection‑prevention policies.
• Identify training needs, conduct staff appraisals and support continuous learning.

Required profile

• University degree in Nursing with at least 5 years post‑graduate experience.
• Current full registration and licence to practice.
• Previous maritime medicine experience on international cruise ships.
• Proficiency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Valid STCW certification and all required documentation at contract start.
• Valid passport and Seaman Book.
