Junior Construction Mechanic – Installation Helper

About the role

Otis is looking for a motivated Junior Construction Mechanic to support lead mechanics in installing and modernising lifts, escalators and travelators across Malta. You will work on site, following strict safety and environmental standards while helping to meet service targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the lead mechanic with the installation and modernisation of lifts, escalators and travelators.
• Ensure defects identified during service or hand‑over inspections are resolved in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Identify and propose process‑improvement opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Maintain and safeguard company tools, equipment and materials.
• Perform work in line with lift industry codes, standards and Otis Quality System.
• Comply with Environmental Health and Safety policies and report any potential impacts.

Required profile

• Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Construction Technician or similar role.
• Experience working at heights, rigging and dogging.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Capability to transfer knowledge through training and to plan and prioritise tasks effectively.
