Junior Auditor

About the role

FACT is expanding its Audit and Assurance team and seeks a Junior Auditor to support partners in delivering high‑quality audits for a diverse client base, including international financial services firms and private enterprises. This role offers exposure to multiple industries and the chance to develop both technical audit skills and client‑facing experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist audit seniors and managers in completing annual statutory external audits for a portfolio of clients.
• Prepare audit files and perform audit testing in line with International Standards on Auditing.
• Support analytical reviews and help resolve technical accounting issues.
• Assist in preparing and organising audit documentation and working papers.
• Support the preparation of financial statements under both GAPSME and IFRS.
• Carry out basic accounting and administrative tasks during quieter periods.
• Document audit findings and prepare clear summaries for senior review.
• Help plan and coordinate audit engagements to ensure timely completion.
• Work under supervision while learning to review and improve audit quality.
• Build professional relationships with clients by providing responsive support under guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting obtained in Malta.
• Part‑qualified ACCA (or equivalent) or progressing towards full qualification.
• 1–2 years of relevant client audit experience in Malta.
• Good knowledge of IFRS, GAPSME and auditing standards.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in English and Maltese.
