Information Technology Technician

About the role

You will join the IT Helpdesk team at Trust Payments, providing first‑line support for staff across hardware, software, telephony and collaborative tools in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as first‑line support via Zendesk, phone and in‑person for staff IT issues.
• Diagnose and document hardware and software faults, escalating to second‑ and third‑line teams when needed.
• Install, configure and deploy laptops and desktops, and maintain desk‑side equipment.
• Manage user accounts, onboarding and off‑boarding, and keep permission records up to date.
• Maintain server‑room hardware, including rack mounting, UPS installation and cable management.
• Handle procurement of IT equipment, obtain quotes and stay within budget.
• Monitor and test generators, air‑conditioning units and mobile phone assets.
• Create and update technical articles for the internal self‑help portal.

Required profile

• Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users.
• Experience in an IT support or customer‑service environment, including use of a ticketing system such as Zendesk.
• Practical knowledge of laptops, monitors, mobile phones and general desktop equipment.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Admin Centre for account management.
• Ability to lift equipment up to 10 kg and hold a valid passport for occasional off‑site duties.
