In-Season Trader - Sports Brands

About the role

Hudson is looking for an In-Season Trader for its sports brands in Malta. The role drives and optimises in-season trading performance across banners and countries by aligning sales, stock and assortment decisions with real-time data. It acts as the central trading link between Buying, Planning, VM, Logistics and Retail Operations to maximise sell-through, ensure product availability and improve profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Build the in-season trading community: act as the main contact for trading across buying, planning, marketing, logistics and retail operations, and help integrate trading strategies into business objectives
• Assist the Planning Manager in testing and scaling new tools and ways of working, and lead cross-functional projects to improve processes
• Develop and lead the in-season trading strategy for the assigned banners
• Oversee sales performance and inventory management across banners/countries, working with buying and planning to set optimal stock levels and make markdown recommendations
• Work on new replenishment tools for accurate stock allocation and replenishment across countries
• Collaborate with buying and planning to analyse product and category performance, recommending assortment adjustments, substitutions or exits
• Monitor inventory intake from suppliers with supply chain administration and work with logistics on timely delivery
• Prepare detailed reports for senior managers and recommend assortment and promotional changes from sales, stock and profitability analysis
• Implement inter-store transfers and track Never Out of Stock (NOS) coverage

Required profile

• 1-2 years of experience in trading, merchandising or inventory management
• Degree or diploma in business administration or engineering is a plus
• Familiarity with retail planning, product lifecycle and fashion retail processes is a plus
• Valid Maltese driver's licence
