Galley Utility – Cruise Ship Cleaning & Maintenance

About the role

The Galley Utility ensures the daily cleanliness and upkeep of the ship’s galleys, following the schedule set by management. Working onboard, you will support food‑service operations by maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain galley areas and equipment according to the established schedule.
• Use only authorized chemicals and follow all safety, fire and security procedures.
• Operate cleaning machinery and handle related materials safely.
• Apply food safety and HACCP procedures to all tasks.
• Assist with loading provisions when directed.
• Participate in training programs for skill development and future promotion.

Required profile

• Senior high school diploma (12th grade) or higher; hospitality or catering certificate is a plus.
• Previous experience in a hotel or cruise line, preferably as a kitchen steward or utility staff.
• Basic knowledge of food safety principles.
• Ability to read, speak and interpret English.

Required skills

• Operation of cleaning machinery.
